 Rey Allen/executive director

Rey Allen is a veteran Actor, Singer, Dancer, Stage Manager, Director and Producer.

Rey majored in Theatre & Psychology at Fordham University, Lincoln Center.

 

At 21 he directed and produced

James Baldwin's "Blues for Mister Charlie"; making him the first student and first African American of the Double Image Theatre to direct and produce a major production. Rey received city-wide acclaim and held the title for five years as the youngest professional African American stage director/producer in the tri-state area.

 

For three years he co-produced the Annual New York City Youth Theatre Festival. Rey also co-produced at The Open Gate

Theatre and the Red Carpet Theatre in New York City. He has directed and stage-managed numerous dramas and musicals

throughout the global community.

 

His credits include: "A Raisin in the Sun" Hunter College Playhouse, "The Great American Gospel Gala" at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center, "The Monster...The Bride & Stephen" at The Paramount Theatre. "Cindy" at Lehman Stages, "Gifts of Parting" and "A Winter Reunion" at the Harold Clurman Theatre, "The Amen Corner", "The Dreams of Dr. King" & "Tambourines To Glory" at the Red Carpet Theatre.
