Dancer, Actress, Costume Designer and Choreographer, Luz is the founder and Artistic Director of Hamalali Wayunagu Garifuna Folkloric & Modern Dance Company, and director of dance for Theatre International, Inc. She is also the Director and founder of the Garifuna Heritage Center for Arts & Culture, Inc.

 

Ms. Soliz holds a Bachelors degree in Dance Performance and Drama from Bard College, and a Masters degree in Dance and Dance Education from Teachers College, Columbia University.

Ms. Soliz taught elementary school under the Board of Education of the City of New York for over 17 years.

She presently serves as an adjunct professor at Boricua College.
