Maxie Glanville Folkloric Institute

The Maxie Glanville Folkloric Institute was created in honor of the venerable Maxwell (Maxie) Glanville; veteran actor, director, drama coach, playwright, stage manager, and journalist.

 

In January 1985, Maxie, joined the staff of Theatre International, Inc. as Artistic Director.  Maxie led the company to artistic heights for the next seven years, until his death on March 6, 1992.

 

The Institute is an archive for African-American historical drama and a database and research center for West indian indigenous cultures. The Institute is also a conduit for materials relating to the television show, World's Indigenous Peoples.
